STEM Showdown turns your Year 9 cohort into dynamic teams to face off in a variety of quick paced challenges that engage them in hands-on activities to showcase the real world power of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics knowledge and skills.

Make a day of it as this fun filled and rapid fire program rolls out challenges where success relies on the application of the 4 C’s of 21st-century learning: Critical Thinking, Creativity, Collaboration and Communication.

Students arrive at the Tech School, only to hear about a baffling mystery that has the local community stumped. Although the scenario is fictitious, students will need to learn and apply real-life skills in cybersecurity, Virtual Reality (VR) and forensics to help them solve this “whodunit” mystery.

Students explore a variety of STEM concepts and activities as they move through three, one hour rotations. The day is framed by a contextual discussion of STEM skills, their importance to our future, and a demonstration of emerging technology.
