Work experience at the Ballarat Tech School aims to provide students with an engaging and structured introduction to working life in a STEM learning environment.

Within our state of the art facility, students will have extensive access to all things STEM related and experience first hand how staff with diverse skill sets collaborate to create meaningful and engaging learning programs.

Students will have the opportunity to work with educators, technicians and administrators so we encourage students to think deeply about what they want to achieve from their week with us to maximise the experience and equip themselves well for the future world of work.

The Ballarat Tech School also offers a limited number of Structure Workplace Learning (SWL) placements throughout the year. To apply for a SWL, please follow the same application steps for completing a Work Experience application, but using the following link.

Student Experience

Students will:

  • Gain insights into full time working life
  • Be exposed to different roles and skill sets in a workforce
  • Engage with several physical and digital technologies
  • Assist with STEM learning programs
  • Develop valuable professional communication skills

How to Apply

Step 1

Fill out the Expression of Interest Form below to submit your application for the placement position.

Step 2

Within 2 weeks a Tech School staff member will contact you to arrange a time for you to come in for a casual interview. This will help us to determine what you are hoping to achieve during your work experience and that we can help you achieve this.
