Our STEM Academy program officially commenced in 2025 with the successful launch of the Engineering Academy. This will run again in 2026 and students will spend time with engineering professionals, visit industry sites and engage in experiences that replicate real world challenges and career pathways.

The STEM Academies are designed to bring together students from across our partner schools who are eager to explore a specific area of interest in greater depth, visit STEM industries, and connect with mentors working in the field.

While the Academies offer a natural progression for students who have participated in our Girls or Boys in STEM initiatives, they are open to all students who are motivated to grow their skills and solve real-world industry challenges alongside like-minded peers.

The Academy runs across four full-day sessions throughout terms 2 & 3, offering rich, hands-on learning experiences that go well beyond the traditional classroom. Academy options are planned to be expanded in 2027.

Students will

  • Be exposed to discipline specific STEM knowledge and skills
  • Meet mentors and professionals from local industries
  • Discover STEM pathways in further education and work
  • Build a collaborative network of like minded peers and mentors
