The first of our four STEM Academies (which will be rolled out individually over time, each one with a specific focus on a subject area of STEM ie. Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) kicks off in Term 2 2025 which a focus on Engineering.

These co-ed academies are open to all partner schools through an application process, with a view of attracting students who have particular interests in a specific STEM discipline to come together as a like minded network to enhance their skills and solve real world industry challenges.

The STEM Academies form a logical pathway progression for students who have completed our Girls or Boys in STEM programs or for students who have enjoyed a relevant Tech School program previously and want to learn more about STEM related careers.

Our first Academy - Engineering, is a unique 4-day experience across Terms 2 and 3 provides students with invaluable real-world insights into the engineering field.

Students will visit industry sites, meet engineers from wide-ranging sectors, and explore diverse career pathways. It’s a chance for them to ask questions, discover different opportunities, and experience firsthand what it’s like to think and work like an engineer.

Students will

  • Enrol in and be exposed to discipline specific STEM knowledge and skills
  • Be exposed to relevant local industries and help them solve problems of practice
  • Discover STEM pathways in further education and work
  • Build a collaborative network of like minded peers and mentors
