In this hands-on experience, students will explore the world of prototyping using laser cutters and cardboard. Through a series of engaging activities, they’ll learn the step-by-step process of designing, cutting, assembling and testing physical models and prototypes.

The 2 hour morning session of this program will help to skill all students up in the use of the laser cutters and accompanying software by working through a number of stepped challenges including:

• A rapid construction task that helps to introduce them to working effectively with the build material of cardboard.
• A walk-through on how to design and create using the laser cutting software.

Schools and teachers should note that this can be done just as a 2 hour program, however there are no breaks in the session and this should be taken into consideration when booking. 

The full day program includes the morning session above with an afternoon session that focuses on a school based project that allows students to apply their learning from the morning to create an initial project prototype.
