Governance

The Ballarat Tech School is funded by the Victorian Department of Education through the ‘Tech Schools’ initiative which established ten Tech Schools across the state, as well as a central Tech Schools branch. By the end of 2026, six new tech schools will have been established to grow the network across the state including in the regional areas of Warrnambool and Wangaratta.

The Victorian Department of Education provides funding for the day to day operation of the Ballarat Tech School.

As the host, Federation University & TAFE maintains the facility and provides access to corporate services. Federation is also accountable to DE for the ongoing management and operation with the Ballarat Tech School Director holding a senior level position within Federation TAFE's organisational structure.

Advisory Committee

The Ballarat Tech School Advisory Committee meets quarterly, consisting of representatives from key industry, community and educational organisations and provides guidance and support to ensure strategic and operational objectives are achieved.
