Focused on teaching practical skills in a group environment, Behind The Lens shows students the techniques used to produce their favourite films and TV shows.
Over the course of 8 x 2-hour sessions, students will learn what happens behind the scenes of large film productions, and develop the skills to produce high quality short films of their own.
As is the nature of film production, Behind The Lens is heavily focused on group work, helping students develop confidence in their own skills while learning to trust the skills of others and work alongside them.
Over the course of the program, each student will create:
- ‘In-camera’ short films
- Cinematography demonstrations
- Two page scripts
- Multi-cam dialogue scenes
- One crewed short film as a cohort
Whether students prefer to take charge, use a camera, write a story or problem solve logistics, Behind The Lens teaches the skills necessary as a foundation for a career in film.
Sections of Behind The Lens can also be delivered in the classroom at your school through a 2-hour master class. Please contact us to discuss these options.
